Feb. 11 (Bloomberg) -- Nissan Motor Co., aiming to be the world’s biggest seller of electric cars, will take “firm” orders in the U.S. for the battery-powered Leaf from August, after pricing the car and accepting some reservations in April.
Nissan, Japan’s third-largest carmaker, will begin letting customers reserve delivery of a rechargeable hatchback with a $100 deposit in April, the company said today in an e-mailed statement. A formal order process starts in August, with the first batch of cars to be delivered by December, the company said.
